FAQ

  • What is the cast made of?

My 3D casts are made using a non-toxic seaweed based impression powder which is the only product that skin will come into contact with. It is completely harm free.

  • What happens at my appointment?

Appointments are generally quick and straight forward. I use a mixing technique to mix my carefully weighed products and then each hand/foot is submerged for around 60 seconds. For larger casts it may be 1-3 minutes. Once the mould is taken, we slowly and carefully remove the hand/foot which comes out completely clean!

  • How long does it take?

Each casting session depends on how many people are being cast. For a standard baby cast session I allow 30 minutes but the more complex or additional casts you have may require more time.

  • Where do appointments take place?

The majority of my appointments are home based in B33. I can offer mobile appointments however do encourage families to come to me if possible as there is a surcharge for these. End of life and memorial bookings are all mobile.

  • What is the minimum age?

There is no minimum age. Infact newborns are amazing to cast as they tend to sleep through the whole process! As they get older, they tend to wiggle more but that can often make it more fun!

  • What should my child wear?

The process itself for the person being cast is generally mess free however I do always advise to wear old clothes and clothing that allows for easy access of hands and feet.

  • What is the turnaround time?

On average, I aim to complete pieces between 6-8 weeks. During holidays this may be slightly longer due to home commitments. This time allows the cast to dry out thoroughly. Perfection can’t be rushed!

  • Do you offer discounts?

As each piece is bespoke and made completely around your own designs, I rarely offer discounts. However, if more than one piece is being brought this may be a possibility. Discounts are also given for groups that book such as baby groups, nurseries.

  • How can I book?

Please use the contact me form to issue an enquiry or alternatively, give me a call. I look forward to speaking with you.
